About us
Imroc is a registered charity dedicated to training, consultancy, thought leadership, and research. We provide a range of opportunities for individuals to develop new and existing skills through accredited and non-accredited training, coaching, facilitated reflective spaces, and continuing professional development (CPD).
Founded in 2008, Imroc was established to address the challenges faced by mental health organisations in embedding Recovery-focused practices, conversations, and values into their services. Through co-production, we developed a methodology with benchmarks to help organisations identify priorities for change. A key focus was transforming the workforce by developing peer support roles, leading to the creation of our highly successful Mental Health Peer Support Programme and Neurodiversity Programme.
Training
For organisations & individuals seeking peer support & recovery-focused learning
Imroc’s Peer Support Training Programme offers a structured pathway for individuals at every stage of their peer support journey. From Level 2 Foundations of Peer Support to Peer-Informed Supervision Training, the programme builds skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in peer support roles. Developed in collaboration with the NHS and voluntary sector, and accredited by NCFE and CPD UK, it maintains high professional standards while staying co-produced, adaptable, and responsive to evolving needs. With training expanding under the NHSE contract, Imroc continues to refine its approach—ensuring accessibility, quality, and real-world impact.
Imroc’s Autism Peer Support Training Programme fosters a more inclusive, neuro-affirming approach to peer support. Co-produced with autistic individuals, parents, and peer experts, it addresses the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent communities. The programme equips participants with practical skills, adaptive communication techniques, and confidence to support themselves and others. Through interactive learning, sensory-friendly strategies, and co-produced content, it fosters authentic connections, advocacy, and empowerment. Committed to continuous development and lived-experience expertise, Imroc ensures the programme evolves to meet the needs of neurodivergent individuals, families, and support networks.
Imroc’s Recovery College Workshops support the development of co-produced, recovery-focused education in mental health services. Designed for teams and organisations, these workshops explore the core principles of Recovery Colleges, their role in system change, and practical steps for implementation. Through interactive learning, participants gain the tools and knowledge to create inclusive, empowering learning environments that support recovery and personal growth.
Imroc’s CPD and specialist learning workshops provide professionals with advanced skills in recovery-focused care, peer support, and trauma-informed practice. These sessions offer practical insights, evidence-based approaches, and interactive learning to support continuous professional development, ensuring participants stay at the forefront of inclusive and person-centered mental health practices.

Our Trainers
All our trainers bring lived, life and learnt experience, and deliver in teams that offer a variety of relevant experience to each training cohort.
Our trainers complete relevant training to facilitate learning environments that are safe, accessible, friendly and values led. This is no easy feat; our trainers are continually developing their personal and professional skills and progressing their own recovery journeys to create a positive learning environment.
Our trainers are supported by our leadership team who bring extensive experience of peer support, education, and training. This team ensures there are continual opportunities for support, reflection and ongoing learning.
Our Training Approach
At the heart of Imroc training is co-production, ensuring that courses are developed and delivered in collaboration with individuals who have lived experience of accessing services, providing and receiving Peer Support, and working within NHS and voluntary sector organisations.
While grounded in robust theoretical frameworks, our training prioritises practical application, encouraging participants to consider how they can integrate their learning into real-world settings. This approach fosters meaningful change, enhancing services and support systems.
By focusing on trauma-informed and neuro-inclusive practices, our training has a lasting impact. Hope, control, and opportunity are central to everything we do, ensuring that participants not only gain knowledge but also feel inspired and empowered to drive positive change in their work and lives.
The Training Experience
Imroc training is designed to be inclusive, providing a welcoming and accessible learning environment for all participants, valuing the experiential wisdom each person brings.
Recognising the importance of active participation, Imroc training sessions are interactive and engaging, incorporating a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles. This includes group discussions, practical exercises, case studies, and opportunities for reflection. Participants are not passive recipients of information but are actively involved in their learning and unlearning process.
We have different support systems in place for participants depending on the length of and requirements of the course.
All courses listed here are online. To discuss face-to-face course delivery, please get in touch. Online courses require a stable internet connection and access to Zoom.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the course, and definitely benefitted from the teams’ efforts. I appreciated that fact that the course was held online as it allowed me to work with a far more diverse group than is likely to have been possible had the training been held in person. I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone either with an interest in becoming a PSW, but also to those who were looking to build PSW support into the services they offer.”
