We offer three core elements of training and development: training, learning sets and events.
Knowledge and skills transfer features in everything that we do, but we focus exclusively on this goal through our dedicated training and other events. There are three core elements, and we are always looking to extend this further, so feel free to suggest new ideas that help us help you. Developing new skills and understanding is one of the core building blocks of recovery-oriented practice. In conjunction with effective leadership, supervision and a culture that embraces creativity, it is a critical element in Recovery-focused change.
Our training offers opportunities for all staff, from all backgrounds and at all levels, the opportunity to reflect on what they are already doing and explore new ideas to improve their day-to-day practice. Training helps participants to develop new skills and knowledge that nurture an environment in which Recovery can thrive.
We offer a range of seminars, workshops, courses and events that our experienced consultants have developed to assist organisations – both statutory, independent and voluntary – to support Recovery-focused service change. Our consultants are involved in latest thinking and research globally and so can steer and signpost participants to the most appropriate resources and opportunities. We adopt a co-produced ethos in designing and delivering training, bringing both professional and personal experience of mental health challenges. We work with you to tailor our training to your local needs and circumstances rather than providing a ‘one size- fits-all’ package. All of our training is designed to build on participants’ existing experience, expertise, knowledge and ideas while challenging people to think beyond existing ways of doing things. We draw on professional expertise, lived experience and research findings, using a mixture of presentations and exercises that offer participants opportunities to apply principles and explore possibilities. We aim to create an open, collaborative and creative atmosphere in which all participants can contribute, learn together and raise issues of concern. We welcome mixed groups of service providers, commissioners, people who use services and those who are close to them. In addition to training delivered locally for clients, we also run open training opportunities at national and regional levels in major cities across the UK.
