Learning Sets

We offer three core elements of training and development: training, learning sets and events.

We offer three core elements of training and development: training, learning sets and events.

Our action learning sets encourage a creative approach to learning by offering opportunities for people facing similar challenges to work together to share experiences and solutions. With our proven track record of delivering inspirational and practical learning sets, learning sets are a core component of our offer. Learning sets are available for organisations who wish to engage teams and directorates across their organisations as well as our national learning sets for organisations across the country to come together, drive forward thinking and practice on specific topics. Speakers and facilitators will profile national and international best practice and prompt critical discussions on specific aspects of recovery and practice.

A national ImROC learning set provides members with 24 training days, for a group of six staff on four occasions per year who bring the cumulative benefits of participation over the course of the year, and the associated networking, discussion and practical support available. Learning sets are attended by a mixture of managers, commissioners, clinicians, other mental health professionals, peer workers and trainers, people with lived experience of mental health conditions, friends and carers. The topics are chosen by the members beforehand from a menu suggested by the facilitators. Bespoke internal learning sets are available for organisations wishing to engage multiple teams or directorate in regular learning opportunities specific to their local issues and building on their existing strengths. A programme of learning set workshops will be developed in collaboration with the organisation and delivered onsite.

Learning Set Topics Include:
