Save the date: Recovery College conference & festival 2018
“Rarely has an idea in the mental health arena been taken up so widely or so quickly as that of a ‘Recovery College’.” Recovery Colleges 10 Years On https://imroc.org/resources/15-recovery-colleges-10-years/ reminds us of the pace of change, impact and ever growing evidence base for recovery colleges within the UK and internationally.
To celebrate the achievements of recovery colleges, we have dedicated the ImROC annual conference 2018 to the topic of recovery colleges. Hosted by Solent Recovery College on Wednesday 26 September the conference will include a key note speech from Rachel Perkins, lead author of Recovery College 10 Years On and the first person to establish a college within the UK.
We would like to invite recovery colleges from UK and internationally to present at the conference and share their examples of innovation and / or showcase their evaluation findings in the form of a poster display or presentation at the event. In particular, we are keen to hear from colleges:
- who have seen developments for a range of different populations e.g. prison populations, those supported by primary care or palliative care and those with long term health conditions.
- who are reaching staff and family members as students
- who have developed interesting and creative community partnerships with other sectors
- who have commissioned their college through a sustainable model
Colleges are asked to submit a short proposal for their presentation to email@example.com by 1 May 2018. We would ask that your abstract covers the areas of innovation and / or evaluation of findings and demonstrates how your presentation showcases something quite different and interesting.
Bookings are open for delegate places at the conference. To book your place please email firstname.lastname@example.org Recovery colleges who have booked a recovery college review in 2018/9 will receive one free place at this conference.
